Contacting a pharmacist

If you need advice about a medicine, including how to take it, possible side effects, suitability or an adverse reaction, please contact one of our pharmacy teams directly.

For medicines ordered through proctershealth.co.uk, please contact our Polegate pharmacy:

Telephone: 01323 482141
Email: polegate@procters.com

A pharmacist is available during the pharmacy's published opening hours, subject to normal operational requirements and temporary closures.

For general online-order enquiries that do not require clinical advice, you can also contact info@procters.com.

Medicine safety and quantity limits

The online sale of medicines is subject to additional safety controls. These controls are intended to support the safe and appropriate use of medicines and may be stricter than the maximum quantity technically available through the website.

For standard over-the-counter analgesic purchases, including relevant paracetamol and ibuprofen products, we normally restrict customers to a maximum of two retail packs per order.

We may also:

  • restrict the quantity of an individual medicine or category of medicines;
  • apply combined limits to products containing the same or similar active ingredients;
  • ask for additional information before supplying a medicine;
  • refer an order for pharmacist review;
  • reduce the quantity supplied; or
  • refuse or cancel a medicine supply where this is necessary for patient safety, regulatory compliance or appropriate use.

Customers must not attempt to circumvent medicine limits by placing multiple orders, using different customer accounts or dividing purchases.

Promotions and medicines

We do not use promotional price incentives to encourage the purchase of medicines.

Promotional discount codes, automatic promotional discounts, bundle savings and similar promotional incentives do not apply to General Sales List (GSL) or Pharmacy (P) medicines.

Where an order contains both medicines and eligible non-medicine products, a promotion may still apply to the eligible non-medicine items. The medicine itself will remain at its applicable selling price.

Delivery promotions may apply to the delivery charge where their stated conditions are met. They do not reduce the selling price of a medicine or override medicine-safety restrictions.

Pharmacist supervision

Medicines supplied through our online shop are supplied through our registered pharmacy operation in accordance with UK medicines law, General Pharmaceutical Council standards and our professional pharmacy procedures.

Orders containing medicines may be reviewed by a registered pharmacist where appropriate. Our pharmacists retain professional discretion to refuse, reduce or otherwise modify a medicine supply where this is necessary to protect the health, safety or wellbeing of a customer or member of the public.
